Orson Welles' 1938 Radio Version

On Oct. 30, 1938 actor Orson Welles dramatized the 'War of the Worlds' novel for his weekly radio program. He reset the story in New Jersey and simulated news reports about Martian spaceships landing. A mass panic ensued, even though the announcer explained it was fictional.
